Throughout these unprecedented times, delivery personnel and mail carriers have been the unsung heroes working hard to ensure that all of our online orders arrive on time. On Feb 4, take some time to show appreciation for your local mail carriers. You may do this by sending a nice letter to your local post office, or thanking a mail carrier in person.

Introducing the Quarantine Initiative for December: Self-care and study!

This month, we are encouraging UTSC students to engage in the practice of self-care, something that is easily overlooked by the majority of students especially during exam season.

According to Psych Central, self-care is any activity that we do deliberately in order to take care of our mental, emotional, and physical health. Here are some tips to help you get started:

(1) Create a “no” list, with things you know you don’t like or you no longer want to do.
(2) Promote a nutritious, healthy diet.
(3) Get enough sleep.
(4) Exercise.
(5) Follow-up with medical care.
(6) Use relaxation exercises and/or practice meditation.
(7) Spend enough time with your loved ones.
(8) Look for opportunities to laugh!

The Law and Business Association wishes you well on your self-care journey, and we wish you the best of luck studying for exams!

Introducing the Quarantine Initiative for November: Kindness month!

World Kindness Day is on November 13th this year.
The goal is very straightforward: to be kind! The LBA wants to encourage students to take it up a notch this year by spreading some love around the world for the whole month of November instead of just one day!

Here are some ways to get involved:

1. Send an uplifting text to a friend or family member.
2. Go slightly outside of your comfort zone at least once a day to make someone smile.
3. Share a compliment with a coworker or friend.
4. Reach out to a family member you haven't spoken to in a while.

Cheers to a very NICE November!

Introducing LBA's first Quarantine Initiative, from President Zaira Kazmi:

The Great Cycle Challenge Canada!

The Great Cycle Challenge Canada is a cycling event across Canada in which Canadians set themselves a personal riding goal and challenge themselves to pedal throughout August to fight kids’ cancer. Great Cycle Challenge is a national SickKids Foundation fundraising initiative held throughout August.

We are encouraging all UTSC students to partake in this fantastic initiative during the month of August. Sign up individually or as a team and ride to fight cancer! The UTSC student(s) with the most km cycled by the end of August will receive a feature on our social media pages.*

*Please make sure to email us the details of your Great Cycle Challenge page showing your ride and fundraising stats.

Click here to register for the challenge.

Cheers to a productive and active quarantine!
